The muzzle of this gun peeks tantalizingly from the sea-floor. Only a few guns were left by the Danish and Swedish salvage-divers of the 18th century.

By the time of "Fredricus" construction (1698) iron guns completely dominated as ship's artillery. Bronze guns were carried mainly for prestige purposes and were often spoils of war, e.g. on the Royal Ship "Kronan" sunk in 1676.
